Composite Fillings

Tooth-colored composite fillings have surpassed amalgam silver fillings as the standard of care in treating minor to moderate tooth decay. Composite fillings can also be used to repair cracked or misshaped teeth. The porcelain or composite resin reflects light much in the same way as your natural teeth. They can also last for many years and closely resemble teeth both in appearance and strength.

One of the benefits of composite fillings is the doctor can sculpt the material to match your teeth. Your doctor will also match the color of your composite filling to your natural teeth. This gives you a flawless natural look. Unlike amalgam fillings, composite fillings bond to your teeth so they do not shrink over the course of time. This means you have the confidence of knowing your composite fillings will last for many years.

Composite fillings are today’s answer to filling cavities and repairing chipped or cracked teeth.

Crowns & Bridges

When teeth suffer enough breakdown, due to many reasons, they often need to be rebuilt or replaced. With today’s advances in dental materials, this is readily accomplished with various types of porcelain crowns and bridges. Both crowns and bridges can repair and improve your smile.

Crowns are used to repair the crown (top) of your tooth by placing a composite or porcelain crown over the affected tooth or teeth. Bridges are used to fill the gap when one or more teeth are missing. A bridge is made up of one or more crowns anchored onto the abutment teeth. Dental bridges are supported by implants or your natural teeth.

"I feel much more involved in my dental care now."

"I typically loathe going to the dentist, but Dr. Heck and his staff have made the experience so much more enjoyable for me. I especially enjoy that he'll walk me through what he is doing and show me before/after pictures to help my understand the work that has been done."
